TILL WHEN?

These leaders of ours in Kenya have got a way of having their way whenever they want to. Just the other day they hiked up the prices of oil resulting to a rise in the general price levels of commodities in the country.
After the public went out demonstrating, they have now reduced the oil prices with some negligible amount. In addition to that, they have promised a salary increase of only 12.5% as compared to what COTU was demanding - 60%.

But that did not mean that their hunger and thirst for campaign money was quenched. Immediately after the price fall of oil, an acute shortage of the same has resulted.
Who knows? Maybe someone somewhere is hoarding the oil intentionally in order to sell it in the future when they project that prices might be higher.
Or maybe someone knows how the law of demand and supply works so well especially in a capitalist country like ours. That person understands that by hoarding the oil, they will create an artificial shortage, and considering the high demand for the product, its price will have to shoot up again and they go back to their season of prosperity.
Increase in oil prices will also result to an increase in the prices of all other commodities produced in firms which they own or imported by their own firms. The exaggerated prices will then widen their profit margins from their local businesses and they will have made enough money to buy Kenyans` votes come the campaign time.
This tactic has been used in the past and is being used now. If someone doesn’t stop this, it might filter into our next government and end up being a continuous cycle forever. Someone has to stand up against this fraud, and that someone is every citizen in this country. If you are a loyal Kenyan, its time to stop this crime. If this crime hurts you, ask your self, “TILL WHEN???????"
